Step-by-step support · Getting started

Add and verify your first camera

Keep a new off-site recording from a compatible camera or recorder live channel, then check playback.

Create your account

Register with your email and a unique password at app.cambackup.com. No username is required. Sign in with email/password, a requested magic link, or a connected available Google provider. If MFA is enabled, complete the authenticator step.

Choose the connection route

For a camera on your home or business network, use the LAN gateway guide first. For a source already reachable from the cloud, open Add Camera and enter its address or full stream URL. Brand/model and ports are optional advanced settings. A private 192.168.x.x address needs a gateway or another reachable route.

Test before recording

Run Find connection for an address, or test the full stream URL you supplied. The test must decode video before you save the connection. Confirm that the picture belongs to the intended camera or recorder channel. New cameras start with recording off; open private live view before enabling recording.

Verify recording separately

Review the recording entitlement, capture settings and available plan. Start an entitled recording, wait for confirmed footage, and open its timeline. Create a short clip and play the downloaded result. Live viewing success does not prove recording success.

What success looks like

You can view current video, identify the intended camera, and—when recording is entitled—play a new saved segment.

If it does not work

Check model/firmware support, credentials, source type and network reachability. A responding URL may be a login page instead of video. Contact support with the model, time and safe error text, never passwords or a credential-bearing URL.

Still stuck?

Contact CamBackup support with safe error text, time/timezone and the steps tried. Never send passwords, tokens, OTPs, recovery codes or credential-bearing camera addresses.
