Step-by-step support · Account & devices

Install the web app and enable push

Opt into notifications on a supported browser and verify the real device.

Install when supported

Open app.cambackup.com and use the browser’s install/add-to-home-screen action. On iPhone or iPad, use Safari → Share → Add to Home Screen, then open the installed web app. Push on those devices requires iOS/iPadOS 16.4 or later. Install prompts differ by browser; ordinary web access remains available.

Opt into notifications

In the account’s notification/device controls, choose to enable push and accept the browser permission. This is a deliberate user action. The service worker does not cache private footage or account responses for offline playback.

Review alert preferences

Enable the camera/account alerts you actually want and check that this device remains registered. A browser permission alone does not opt a camera into every notification.

Verify delivery on the device

Use a safe planned test, observe the application event and confirm a visible notification. Check quiet modes and OS settings. Provider acceptance is not proof that the device displayed it. Revoke old devices when replacing them.

What success looks like

The intended device displays an opted-in alert under the conditions you tested.

If it does not work

Browser support, home-screen requirements on some platforms, permission settings and quiet modes can change delivery. Existing saved footage remains online-only; installing the PWA does not enable offline recording.

Still stuck?
